Time travel to the future

 If I had the possibility to time travel, I would like to visit the future, about 1.000 or 2.000 years after today. I would like to visit the future because I want to know what will happen with the climate change in the world. I would like to know if the civilization as we know comes to an end, and I would like to see how the survivors continue to live in this new world. I would like to know how the human beings are going to live without the industrial production and what kind of political economic system they will have to adopt. I wonder what kind of technology will development in the future. I imagine that all the transport that use fossil fuel like plains could not be use in the future, so instead the people will use electric transport or just animals. I also imagine that the most of people and animals will die because water scarcity and other ecological disasters so the survivors will live in small communities. I think they will return to organization around the agriculture and cattle raising and they will live on the mountains because of the sea level raise. I imagine that all the computer data will be lost, so I hope that the books and pictures and other kind of historical information will survive trough the time, that way I could study what happened with the humanity at that point. Finally, I would not like to stay there because a will miss my family and friends, so I will return to the present.

Changes to my study programme

 

I am in my second year of psychology so I don’t really know that much about all my study programme. At the moment the things that I think need some changes about the curriculum to improve my career are given more chances to add elective subjects because in my case I tried to take these every semester and they always rejected me. 

On the other hand, there was a lot of problem about the faculty facilities, there are always a problem with the classroom, sometimes is the air conditioner, or the audio, or the internet, etc. Last year we needed some place with internet to do a test in groups. My group could not find this place, so we ended doing the test in the aisle so that affect our performance at the test. I would add more study rooms and improve the internet connection. Also I would add a casino with affordable prices, because the coffee shops in the faculty are too expensive.

About the workload and length of studies I think it is ok. I appreciated having a week free in the semester to catch up on the subjects. Maybe I would improve the coordination between the subjects so that the evaluations do not come all together sometimes.

The use of technology it is also good, I think the use of “u-cursos” it is a great tool to ease the access to material and information. In conclusion I think it is a great career so I would not make so many changes to it at this moment.

My dream job as a park ranger

 

In the future I would like to become a park ranger because I really like nature. I have the luck of living in a country with a lot of beautiful national parks and I hope that I would find a job in a national park in the south of Chile. I imagine myself every day taking long walks in the middle of the forest. I would like to take pictures of the flora and fauna of the forest and I would learn all about the different species that I will find. I’ll need a lot of different skill in order to work as a park ranger, for example, I’ll need to have a very good physical condition so I have to do some exercise from now, also I´ll need to learn about conservation of nature and ecology. I’ll expect a low salary, because the political support and financing of national parks are insufficient. I guess that I would have a second job as psychologist to self-finance. I’ll thinking of taking a major of park ranger after I’ll finish my university studies in psychology and I’ll settle down in the south. I hope I’ll can wake up every day with the sound of birds singing. I think I will be very happy living by the nature.

The best concert ever

 

The best concert that I went was in 2009 and take place in the Club Hípico in Santiago of Chile. The band of the concert was Los Fabulosos Cadillacs which is a band of rock from Argentina founded in the eighties. Their music is a mixed of rock with pop, ska and murga. Their lyrics talk about the injustice, revolution, love and other topics. My favorites songs of the band is “El leon Santillan”, “Quinto centenario” and “Yo no me sentaría en tu mesa”, the last one talk about friendship and I think is very beautiful. The concert was very important to me because it was the first concert they do in Chile after the band where apart for many years, so I thought that I was never able to saw them in live. The atmosphere during the event was really cheerful. Everybody where dancing and jumping on the court. I felt very happy because I went with my three best friends of the school and they pick me up to saw better between the people. It was really fun and I will never forgot it.

A country i like to visit: Cuba

The country that a like to visit is Cuba because I am curious about the life style with a different politic system. Also, I been told that is a very beautiful country with a lot of nature and a rich culture. The capital from Cuba is La Habana with 2 millions of people. The weather is tropical. They economy depend on agriculture, with products like sugar and Tabaco, also depend on extraction of minerals and tourism. In the 1958 in Cuba take place a revolution against de dictatorship of Batista. This revolution change they history until our days because is one of the few countries that have a planned economy with socialist bases. Is considerate for some international organism the only country in the world that is ecologically sustainable with a high standard of human development. If I traveled there, I will like to travel all over the country and talk with a lot people to know their vision and opinion about their country, also I want to do some trekking in the nature and take pictures of their animals and landscapes. I think that I will like live there for some time to have the time to know it better.
